The invention is on the production of nanoparticles derived from Perlis dolomite. The dolomite nanoparticles (nano-dolomite) are obtained from size reduction process involving the combination technique of planetary ball milling and tip-sonication. This novel method is simple, practical and environmental friendly, as it does not involve the use of costly and toxic chemicals. The whole process and step-by-step procedures to obtain the dolomite nanoparticles, types of equipment used and medium for the ultra-sonication process are disclosed. The produced dolomite nanoparticles show much finer particles compared to the raw dolomite (the original pulverized form), thus has great potential to be used as nanofiller in a polymer nanocomposite system or can be also employed in other applications.
