The present invention provides a method and system for early identification and management of dispute risk in construction projects; particularly public construction
projects administered under standard contractual frameworks. The invention addresses limitations of existing dispute management approaches by introducing a predictive mechanism that operates prior to the formal crystallization of disputes. In accordance with the invention, project administration data are continuously
collected and processed to identify predefined dispute indicators associated with contractual, administrative, technical, and operational aspects of a construction
project. Each indicator is assigned a weighted value, and the processed data are used to compute a dispute early-warning index representing a quantified level of dispute risk. The computed dispute early-warning index is categorized into multiple risk levels, each corresponding to a predefined threshold. Upon reaching a specified risk level, the system automatically triggers predetermined management actions, thereby enabling timely intervention to address potential sources of dispute before escalation into formal claims or dispute resolution proceedings. Advantageously, the invention transforms routine project information into actionable dispute-risk intelligence, enhances decision-making within construction governance, and supports proactive dispute prevention, resulting in improved project performance, reduced conflict, and more efficient dispute management outcomes.
