ABSTRACT |
A novel polymeric membrane based on the combination of chitosan and latex was developed. Latex was use as supporting material of chitosan in to form a dense nanofiltration membrane. Nanofiltration process is a process which membrane with nano size pores. The chitosan-latex nanofiltration membrane was produced in laboratory and the membrane such as: tensile strength,rejection efficiecy,flux permeation.pore size, and surface morphology were investigated. The nanofiltration membrane chitosan modified with glutaraldehyde have higher tensile strength and reject efficiency and lower flux permeation compared to unmodified. The applications of chitosan żlatex nanofiltration membrane are for water treatment, waste water treatment, textile industry, food industry and especially for metal industry to heavy metal removal.
