A lab-on-chip device for label-free detection of biomolecules or microbes in a sample is provided. The device includes a substrate layer at the bottom; an oxide layer coating the subtrate layer; a metallic pad supported on the oxide layer; a plurality of interdigitated electrodes fabricatred on the metallic pad, a layer of Titanium Dioxide nanoparticle is then deposited on the pad and electrodes.
