ABSTRACT |
A new circular polarization design of smart antenna for WLAN 2.4 GHz frequency band integratedwith switching circuit on a single layer for smart antenna experimentally studied. RF switch used to control the parasitic elements by excite DC signals to PIN diode. Moreover, the design was fabricated on TLY - 5 which is low loss board using manual etching process. The technique of parasitic switching is is used in order to enable steering of the beam in 6 locations on azimuth plane with an elevation angle between 20 celcius to 60 celcius. the beam-steering can can be achieved in two ways where the parasitic antenna element is short-circuited or open-circuited using switches. The parasitic element becomes a director when open-circuited or simply transparent when close-circuited. Applications which require this smart antenna are UAV, wireless router, laptop and mobile base station.
