| ABSTRACT |
The Advanced Process Control Training kit is specially designed to enhance the teaching and learning process according to Outcome Based Education (OBE) method. The training kit offers complete development exercises in modeling and control of industrial processes. It integrated complete modeling and control capabilities using system identifications and real-time implementation of the controller either through direct computer control or microcontroller control. Thus, this training kit provides a complete training solutions platform for development and testing of advanced control algorithm or strategy. The advanced process control training kit effectively addresses the need to effectively teach students the concepts and principles of control system design. The training kit is equipped with DC motor and `mini ovenż for servo and temperature control purposes. In addition, there are output relay available for auxiliary plant purposes. The kit is also equipped with an 8-bit microcontroller for real-time control implementation using embedded system. There are 8 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs as well as 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs. With this invention the teaching of process control system shall effectively covers complete design processes and practical implementation of controller development. The training kit allows implementation of advanced control methods so that students are not limited to classical control only.
