PRODUCT NAME IOT SMART FERTIGATION SYSTEM FOR GINGER FARM
ABSTRACT This project presents the uses of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the Smart Fertigation System for monitoring and automation in the agriculture of ginger plantations. The traditional way of the fertigation system in the agriculture farm caused a lot of problems for the farmers, such as a lack of nutrients in the soil, labour workers, and invisible soil conditions. Hence, the aim of this project is to design and develop a smart fertigation system together with a monitoring, controlling, and automated system to improve the traditional way of fertigation for ginger plants by using more advanced technology. In this system, the system is fully automated in the irrigation process and refill process of the fertilizer. The back valve system is designed in the fertigation system for the water and fertilizer recycling to mix the solution well before the irrigation process starts to irrigate the solution to the ginger plants. The IoT platforms that are used for monitoring, controlling, and data collection are MIT App Inventor, Firebase, and Google Sheet. The result analysis of the parameters data collected from the soil has been compared with the reference parameters for the ginger plants. In the result, most parameters meet the reference values by using the mixed fertilizer solution of fertilizer A, fertilizer B, and water. In conclusion, the irrigation, refilling process, and data collection function normally during the plantation of ginger plants in a controlled environment.
