PRODUCT NAME Design & Development Of On-Line Optical Measurement System For Optical Calibration Purpose
ABSTRACT With the hardware implementation of on-line optical measurement system for optical calibration purpose, it is expected to offer all the features of stand-alone box optical power meters have in addition to scalability to higher number of channels, advanced data analysis and rapid collection of optical power measurement. This system is a low-cost system which only contains an amplified photodetector and a data acquisition board. The project converts optical power from photodiode to an electrical signal and converting the analog signal to a digital signal using acquisition board (DAQ) and displaying the results. The target of the project is to explore the design methodology should employ both hardware and software design techniques. This feature will make it possible to measure power which expresses in watts (W) or decibels miliwatts (dBm). In this case, the platform considered for prototyping is a development of system containing an amplified photodetector, data acquisition board (DAQ) and using LabVIEW software for display the result.
