| ABSTRACT |
The present invention relates to the method for producing highly dense, fine-grained, and phase-stable Ta-doped Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) with the specific composition of Li6.4La3Zr1.4Ta0.6O12 (LLZTO) with superior ionic conductivity suitable for all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries. The method utilizes a joule-heated and localized sintering system comprising conductive carbon felt electrodes, silver paste interface layers, and alumina fibre insulation inside well-insulated chamber filled by argon gas to achieve ultrafast densification of ceramic solid electrolytes. The invention enables controlled, energy-efficient sintering at temperatures approximately between 1150 °C and 1250 °C within seconds to a few minutes, minimizing lithium volatilization and grain coarsening while attaining superior ionic conductivity exceeding 10-3 S/cm. The modular system design allows scaling to multiple samples for industrial or semi-industrial production of high-performance solid electrolytes.
