PRODUCT NAME MASJID ABIDIN SG LAKA DIGITAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (MADMS)
ABSTRACT This project marks a significant milestone in the academic and professional journey of students from the Faculty of Engineering & Technology Electronics (FKTEN) at Universiti Malaysia Perlis. Initially conceived as a routine requirement for the Engineering Management course, the initiative evolved into a meaningful digital transformation effort for the Masjid Abidin Sungai Laka community. Prompted by the mosque committee¿s call for a ¿bachelor¿s degree¿level¿ contribution, the team shifted from a basic community service plan to developing a sustainable, high-impact solution. Within two months, the team successfully designed and implemented the Masjid Abidin Sg Laka Digital Management System (MADMS), a centralized web-based platform that modernizes mosque operations. The system automates ¿Khairat Kematian¿ registration, replacing error-prone paper records, and introduces a Zero-Conflict Booking system to streamline ¿Tok Kadi¿ appointments and facility reservations. To enhance community engagement, MADMS integrates a secure ¿Digital Infaq¿ feature via QR code and provides a real-time dashboard for religious classes and announcements. Beyond software development, the project also addressed critical infrastructure challenges by restoring the functionality of the mosque¿s projector system. By integrating a G2 Google Cast device, the team effectively bypassed damaged HDMI connections, transforming the system into a wireless display solution. This combined software-hardware approach ensures comprehensive digital readiness. The project¿s impact is validated through an official Letter of Appreciation from the Masjid Abidin Sungai Laka Committee. Aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). This initiative demonstrates how engineering education can deliver practical, community-centered solutions. The MADMS platform remains fully operational and sustainable, supported by detailed user and administrative documentation, ensuring long-term benefits for the community.
