A new binder (NB) containing coconut oil and amine groups was prepared using polymerization technique and the addition of dicumyl peroxide as an initiator. The new binder (NB) based on coconut oil showed good processability and performance, and this suggested that it is suitable for coupling agent in the composites. A new binder is a chemical that is used to treat the surface of filler. The binder is substances which produce a close physical or chemical bond between two substrates. In all cases, the coupling agents form bridges at the interfaces of both components. Like coupling agent, a binder must also be suitable and compatible or can react with chemical groups in matrix¿s surface. The results indicated that the addition of new binder based on coconut oil has been shown to be superior mechanical properties compared to commercial coupling agent in the eggshell composites.
