| ABSTRACT |
Zeolite A is a crystalline aluminosilicate material widely used in adsorption, catalysis, ion exchange, water purification, and detergent industries due to its high surface area, porosity, and ion-exchange properties. The increasing demand for sustainable and low-cost materials has encouraged the use of natural minerals such as kaolin for zeolite synthesis. Malaysia possesses abundant kaolin resources, especially in Perak, which contain high silica and alumina compositions suitable for zeolite production. However, low-grade kaolin often contains impurities such as quartz that may affect zeolite formation. Therefore, this study aimed to synthesize Zeolite-A from low-grade Perak kaolin using a hydrothermal method and investigate the effects of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) molarity and crystallization time on the crystallinity and morphology of synthesized zeolite.
