PRODUCT NAME Digilecx
ABSTRACT Digital Electronics is one of the core subjects in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology programmes, requiring students to master numbering systems, Boolean algebra, Karnaugh maps, and combinational and sequential circuit design. In practice, many students struggle to build this mastery because the simulators and revision tools they rely on are spread across different websites and applications, several of which sit behind paid subscriptions, leaving lecturers with little room to adapt content to their own teaching. As a result, students often spend more time hunting for a suitable tool than actually practising the concept at hand, and traditional lecture-based delivery, being fixed in pace and largely passive, does little to close that gap. DIGILECX was developed to respond to this gap directly: a single, free, browser-based platform that brings the Study and Practice components of Digital Electronics together in one interactive environment, requiring no installation. The platform is organised around the four pillars of the syllabus, numbering systems and codes, algebraic switching, combinational logic design, and sequential logic design, and pairs each topic with a Study Mode of guided explanations and worked examples alongside a Practice Mode of hands-on solvers such as a Boolean algebra simplifier, a Karnaugh map minimiser, base conversion and arithmetic tools, a 7-segment decoder simulator, multiplexer and demultiplexer analysis, and flip-flop and counter design exercises. Early use in classroom delivery suggests the consolidated format helps students engage more consistently, learn at their own pace, and return to the same environment for both concept review and applied practice.
