PRODUCT NAME A Compact Planar And Highly Efficient Antenna For WLAN Application
ABSTRACT A printed microstrip monopole antenna is designed to operate in WLAN frequency range (2.4-2.48 GHz), which is one of the most important frequency bands in mobile terminology. This antenna can be used for both, transmitting or receiving of WLAN signals. The directional antenna radiation pattern of the antenna provides an efficient radiation scheme especially when mounted with one of the WLAN Access Points near to the ceiling/walls. This invention provides a compatible gain and beamwidth compared to conventional monopole antenna, having typical gain value of 2dBi. In this invention parasitic plane is introduced as an additional radiator that¿s help to produce desired resonant frequency, while helping reduce the size of the antenna itself. The antenna reduces the collection of unwanted signals within the frequency spectrum it operates on. Radiation pattern of the antenna show compliant gain and beamwidth compared to the conventional monopole antenna. This invention has several advantages compared to the traditional whip antenna, for instance this antenna has high efficiency antenna design,inexspensive,low-profile,compact size etc.
