A visual surveillance system is disclosed. The surveillance system comprises a plurality of cameras, a processing means and an information database. The plurality of cameras transmit visual data to the processing means and the information database. The visual data received by the processing means is analysed for vehicles¿ velocity and face recognition. Upon detection of an unauthorized individual, the alarm is triggered. The plurality of cameras are strategically placed at vantage points to capture useful visual data of entrance and exit of vehicles and individuals.
