The compressed natural gas (CNG) is being heavily used as an alternative fuel in vehicles in many countries including Malaysia. Then numbers of CNG filing station are increasing and getting priority in business. But sometimes it cause extensive damage for leakage of gases. Hence, the security of CNG stations is of great importance. We developed a low cost gas-alarm device for security purposes in CNG stations. Our developed system is quite capable of avoiding noise of alcohol and cigarette smoke. This device will check the gas density in air and display it on LCD display. When gas leakage occurs, the density gas in the air is increased. Whenever the device senses the increased gas density it will active the alarm. This device is developed with a microcontroller, gas sensor, LCD, buzzer and a small power supply circuit.
