PRODUCT NAME Diffuser Based Micropump For Nano Wire Intergration Lab On Chip (LOC) Application
ABSTRACT A novel PDMS micropump that carries the function of both mixing and pumping, the device perform the mixing by soft-delicate mechanical vibration created by movement solenoid just below the chamber and moving up and down of the diaphragm created by the same action of the solenoid pump the fluid on the Nano lab on chip chamber. The rate of fluid flow is control by the voltage supply that created the effect of magnetic field within the coil domain. The Micro-Pump is a solenoid operated device designed to provide a precise, repeatable and discrete dispensed volume of fluid. The flow path is isolated from the operating mechanism by a flexible diaphragm. When the solenoid is energized, the diaphragm is retracted creating a partial vacuum within the pump body pumps with dispense volume ~ 40 ul are able to draw air. The suction created by the diaphragm is sufficient to pull liquids from an unpressurized container. Once the pump is primed, it is able to generate around 0.5 psi (0.03 bar) pressure, this pulls liquid through the inlet check valve(A) and simultaneously closes the outlet check valve(B). when the solenoid is de-energized a spring pushes the diaphragm down, expelling a discrete volume of liquid through check valve B while simultaneously closing check valve A. Micro-Pumps require a complete on-off cycle for each discrete dispense. Repeatedly cycling the solenoid creates a pulsed flow.
