PRODUCT NAME Synthesis Of Cuprous Oxide Thin Film For Photoelectorchemical Cell (PEC) Application
ABSTRACT Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) is an interesting p-type semiconductor with a band gap of 2 ev at room temperature suitable for solar cell applications. Even though (Cu2O is one of the earliest semiconducting materials known to physicists and materials scientists, not much technological advancements has been achieved due to poor conversion efficiencies (<2%) in solar cells applications. The inventions of this research is the preparation of (Cu2O thin films using sol-gel spin coating and the prepared film were annealing in the enviroment of 5% H2=95% N2. The films were succesfully deposited on undium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass using the diethanolamine (DEA) as a soubility agent, glucupone as stabilizer and poly etyhlene glycvol and as an additive to improve the properties and made the Cu2O fil is potentially suitable for a photoelectrochemical cell of ITO/Cu2O/PVC-LiClO4/graphite.
