The applications of foamed concrete in Malaysia are still low. This is due to the fact that the exposure of using it and its advantages amongst the designers and contractors are still in early stage. Thus, this product has been invented in order to help promoting the usage of foamed concrete in the construction. Normal weight coarse aggregates is a rock of various sizes and shapes and it is used to manufacture normal weight concrete. Since to natural granite are depleted due the rapid demand in construction industry, new form of aggregates need to be invented to fulfill this demand. Furthermore, beside the local concrete new IBS Lightweight concrete that can withstand maximum loading. Thus, this product has been invented to ensure that the dependencies towards granite can be lowered. By incorporating lightweight aggregate in the making of the lightweight concrete total permanent actions for the entire structure can be reduced thus can also reduced overall construction cost. This IBS Block has been design with its own special geometry and size that has not been used in the world according to specification of Eurocode. It is made from Bubble Aggregate as a partial replacement of normal granite and Organic Foam as a filler in Innovative IBS block.
