| ABSTRACT |
A system of detecting bacteria species infecting a wounded site of diabetic foot comprising a housing having a gas inlet and a gas outlet a head nozzle defining a hollow passageway attached to the gas inlet extending away from the housing ; a pump disposed within the housing and configured to sample gases from the wounded site through the head nozzle a detection chamber receiving the sampled gas from the pump; an array of gas sensors arranged on the detection chamber to detect and analyze volatile compounds in the sampled gas and a circuit connected to the gas sensors which processes signals generated by the gas sensors and provide an output to verify the infection.
