system for controlling and operating a machine based on an automatic measurement of human emotions is disclosed. The disclosed system includes a imaging device for capturing image of a subject/human face, a marker placement module that places one or more markers on the captured image of the human face, virtually, an Optical Flow Algorithm module for optically detecting the human face in the captured image. The system further include a rule based module for detecting emotions in the captured image and an interface unit in communication with the output of the rule based module and with home applications suct that the interface unit control the home applications based on human emotions.
