There are various types of motorize cabinet that are on the market. The motorized cabinet is designed to save spaces that being used up by conventional cabinet and also with its closed storage that provide security for user. The control systems used in previous work of the motorized cabinet are using touch technology control, mechanical-assist and manual. Currently, the motorized cabinet system is controlled through touch screen display that looking dull and unattractive. Although the touch screen has simple graphic user interface to control the motorized cabinet but there are some circumstance where the touch screen display will fail in time. Replacing a touch screen display will be costly even though the manufacturer has new part for it but it is not a long term solution. Therefore, Android based control system is introduced to replace the touch screen display and also to optimize the functions of a smart motorized cabinet. By using Android based control system in the motorized cabinet system, it can provide more features for the existing motorized cabinet such as distance Bluetooth control, storage security control, item locator, and cabinet database control which combine all the features in an Android application. Due to the rise of the Android based smartphone user, the motorized cabinet can be control easily with the user download and install the Android application from Google Play Store. Hence, the Android based smart motorized cabinet will optimize the capability of existing product and give manufacturer to gain profit from this new invention and in the meantime to reduce the maintenance fees of user for long term solution.
