Flood occurs for variety of reasons; our concern is to reduce the flooding due to overflowing of waters to irrigation circuit that have gate installed for agriculture management purposes. Currently the gate system is powered by electricity grid or by human powered system. The obvious problem for this system is that a human controller has to go on site to activate the gate in order to control the volume of river flow. This might cause a serious problem if the human controller delayed the action or cannot reach the site in the event of excess high rate of flowing water. Therefore we suggest a system that can be operated remotely using available internet connection and this system is powered by the river itself and sun radiation. This means the system can be installed anywhere without electricity constrain as long as there is internet connectivity. This study is about to develop a prototype power system by using hydro-turbine and solar panel for irrigation system which will be operated remotely. Power can be harvested by using two methods; firstly by water flow and another one by sun radiation. In wireless control operation system, human controller can use a hand phone, or any internet capable communicator such as smart phones, laptop or IPad to make the irrigation gate open or close the gate, thus controlling water flow volume on demand and reduce the flood occurrence from mismanagement.
